TRAUMA-INFORMED CRISIS INTERVENTION
This workshop assists staff to respond effectively to the warning signs and various stages of a crisis while demonstrating how important it is for staff to manage their own stress, anxieties, and emotions when confronted with these challenges.
Staff will be introduced to comprehensive and easy-to-apply models that will generate the necessary confidence to evaluate risks and deploy defusing strategies applicable to a continuum of behaviours.
CRISIS AS AN OPPORTUNIY
Crisis is an opportunity… when people feel safe. How often do you practice your skills in order to develop much needed confidence? Crisis Intervention and Management under this essential lens is a shift, a mindset; not a curriculum or policy. It is client-centered and strength-based.
Role playing is an essential way to learn when it is safe for people to participate and when the concept is aligned to build confidence and not to evaluate staff competence.
RECIPE FOR SUCCESS… OR DISASTER
Creating a practical and comprehensive approach to crisis management is an essential component for any organization today.
Managing someone else’s emotions is by far the most complex work. Left alone, it will undermine and fragment staff confidence and trust. The costs associated with managing post-incident response and the impact it has on the brand name is also astronomical.
And most importantly, the lack of practice, dialogue and rehearsal of skill is directly at the expense of the same population we thrive to help. Let's stop relying on improvisation and be better prepared!
