A Note on Security, by Rose Rezaie

‘These are my reflections, written based on how I feel each day, my conversations with clients I used to work with in Iran, and my everyday experiences.

My Facebook is public, so everyone can follow my posts and read these reflections there. I’ve just started sharing them recently, but I hope to eventually organize them all and maybe even turn them into a book one day.’

A Note on Security

Security breathes quietly.

It doesn’t shout, doesn’t demand attention,

but when it’s there, everything feels calm.

The heart steadies, the breath softens,

and the mind finds a place to rest.

Sometimes, security isn’t found in walls or locks,

but in the gentle presence of a friend

who sees you just as you are—

without wanting to fix or reshape you.

Security means you’re not afraid of being judged.

It means knowing that if your heart feels heavy,

someone will stay—not run, not retreat—

but simply sit beside you and remain.

And yet, nothing shakes us more

than when someone takes that security away—

with a harsh word, a cold look,

a confusing silence that leaves you guessing:

“Did I do something wrong? Am I not enough?”

If only people understood

how deeply their actions affect the emotional safety of others…

maybe they would choose to speak with honesty,

instead of expecting us to read their minds,

instead of reacting with judgment or unrealistic expectations.

Security is the foundation of every healthy relationship.

It is a gift—and when you offer it to someone,

you are also giving peace to yourself.

Because when you feel safe

,you love more deeply.

And when you feel safe,

everything begins to make sense.
